Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 22, 2026

Platano Labs LLC ("Platano Labs," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use the Gridle application ("App"), how we use and share that information, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: We collect information you provide to create and manage your account, such as your email address and profile details.

App activity and user content: We process information related to your use of app features, including gameplay, social interactions, and related content you submit in the App.

Communications and notification data: We process notification settings, push tokens, and related delivery data so we can send account-related and product-related communications.

Subscription and purchase information: When you start a subscription through Apple’s App Store or, in the future, Google Play, we receive records from the store and our subscription partner (RevenueCat) such as anonymized transaction identifiers, product identifiers, pricing, country or storefront, trial status, renewal status, and timestamps. We do not receive your full payment instrument; billing is handled by Apple or Google directly.

Device, advertising, and diagnostics data: We and our partners may process device identifiers, technical signals, ad-related data, crash logs, performance data, and similar diagnostic information.

Information from third parties: We may receive information from service providers and partners that support app operations, advertising, security, and diagnostics.

2. Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers to operate the App, including providers for infrastructure, account and message delivery, push delivery, advertising, subscriptions, security, and diagnostics. We require third parties with access to user data through our App to provide protections for that data consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Advertising and Tracking

We display ads through Google AdMob. On iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission before enabling personalized ads. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized based on your ATT choice. Google's privacy policy describes how Google uses data in connection with ads.

Diagnostics and Error Reporting

We use Sentry for error tracking and crash reporting. When something goes wrong, Sentry may collect technical details such as device information, app state, and stack traces to help us reproduce and fix issues. See Sentry's privacy policy for more on how they handle that data.

Transactional Messaging and Notifications

We use service providers to deliver account-related and product-related messages and notifications.

Subscriptions and Entitlements

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status across devices. RevenueCat receives identifiers (like the hashed app user ID we send), transaction or receipt metadata provided by Apple and Google, and basic device information so it can validate purchases, grant promotional entitlements, and keep your subscription status synced. Revenues and refunds are processed by Apple or Google according to their terms.

If we offer web-based billing in the future, payments may be processed by Stripe. In that case, Stripe will handle your payment information directly and its privacy policy will apply to that processing.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and secure the App, authenticate users, deliver app features, manage subscriptions and entitlements, send communications, support advertising, detect abuse, comply with legal obligations, and maintain and improve reliability and performance.

4. Legal Bases (UK/EU Users)

Where applicable, we process personal data based on performance of a contract (to provide the App), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service operations), consent (for example, notification permissions and ATT), and legal obligations.

5. Data Sharing

We may share data with service providers that support app operations, subscriptions (including Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and where applicable, Stripe), advertising, diagnostics, and communications; with other users as required by social features; and when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the App, maintain account and league functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on data type and purpose.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may update certain profile and notification settings in the App. You can revoke permissions (such as notifications and ATT) in your device settings. If you are signed in, you can delete your account in the App; you may also contact us for help with deletion or to exercise your rights. We will delete or de-identify data as required by applicable law, subject to legal retention requirements.

Our App does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. You can manage tracking-related choices through ATT on iOS or by contacting us.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction, or withdrawal of consent for certain processing. If you are in Canada, the UK, or the EEA, you may also have a right to lodge a complaint with your local privacy or data protection authority. Contact us to exercise available rights.

8. International Transfers

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

9. Children's Privacy

Gridle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. For significant changes, we'll give you additional notice (for example, through the App or by email) where the law or good sense says we should.

11. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you additional rights over your personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share; to delete your personal information (with some exceptions); to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

We share certain advertising identifiers with our ad partners to show you relevant ads. This may qualify as "sharing" under California law. You can opt out by revoking App Tracking Transparency permission in your iOS device settings. We do not sell your personal information for money.

To exercise your rights or ask questions, contact us at [email protected]. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
